Annual VCA Film and TV Pitch night - meet VCA students and find out what crew roles they need volunteers for, learn about filmmaking on set.
Get in touch with film festivals or writers festivals to ask if they need volunteers - often you get free tickets to the festival in exchange for your time, and you can meet lots of people working in the industry.
Contact arts organisations, independent theatres or galleries to see if they run volunteer programs, in order to gain some experience.

Our Local Council runs workshops and activities - try something new, see if you like it.
Get a couple of your friends together and START MAKING SOMETHING - this is the best way to learn, and it’s the way I continue to forge my career.
